WIAW: Tough!

First, some honesty.

This whole get back in shape thing is tough.  I haven’t really felt myself lately to be honest (not running-wise, more like overall strength), and I think that’s mainly due to taking nearly half a week off.  BUT, thanks to Tina’s strength and cardio circuit and some elliptical intervals, I feel like I’m on my way.  I haven’t done that many mountain climbers in a long time!

Now, the food:

Breakfast – aka the most beautiful picture you’ll ever see.  A yogurt bowl with 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt, a pear, cinnamon, honey, and a few pinches of chia seeds.  And coffee with Irish creamer x2

Lunch – Broccoli slaw salad with baby carrots, Trader Joe’s Spicy Bean dip, and mango salsa.  With an unpictured hard-boiled egg and a slice of the healthier banana bread I made today. Actually….the whole picture got lost so LOOK IT’S A KITTEN

Snacks – A brownie Clif Z bar and a handful of “Everything” trail mix via Target, and later a few chunks of the fabulous Syrah-soaked Toscano from Trader Joe’s.

Dinner – Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage and Garlic Kale Chips with ketchup….unpictured because I was starving.  I did snap a photo of my water with lime to entertain you though!

OH SNAP A KITTEN

Dessert – 2 thin slices of banana bread, one with peanut butter!

I do wish I had gotten more protein, but overall not a bad day.  The banana bread was good!  Not as decadent as my favorite recipe, but good for when you’re looking to cut back.

Other than that, my day went pretty smooth – although I have to admit I’m pretty tired of having to drive back through rush hour every day. On the bright side….

I DON’T HAVE TO GO IN TO WORK TOMORROW!  Hallelujah, it’s gonna be a good Thursday Smile  And I’m finally going to get caught up on my shows.

Bananas in bread: Love them or Hate them?

Love love love.

What’s your favorite new TV show this year (if you’re into tv)?

Before midseason I probably would have picked Nashville, but I’m going to have to go with The Following, despite my irrational dislike of Kevin Bacon.
